NOTES

This little oddity was inspired by a two-chord ostinato in Thomas Newman’s score to the recent film “Little Children.” To my ears, it has a bubbling, menacing quality, perhaps reflecting the emotional heat experienced by the characters in the film. It was premiered at Harvard’s “Oktoberfest” festival in 2006 and reprised at many other gigs, including live on WHRB Radio in spring, 2009.
