This work derives its text from the Hebrew liturgy and is a reworking of a prior incarnation for SATB Chorus. It was commissioned by Miguel Felipe, a great conductor and dear friend, for the Mt. Holyoke College Choral Ensembles.

Hodo al-eretz v’shamayim,
V’yarem keren l’amo
Tehila l’chol chasidav
Livnei Yisrael am k’rovo
Hallelujah!

God’s majesty is above the earth and heavens
And God is the strength of our people
Making God’s faithful,
The people of Israel, close to the Eternal.
