NOTES

This piece was commissioned by the excellent Baker-Distad duo for a memorial concert in Houston, Texas commemorating the tenth anniversary of 9/11. Its musical language is simple, direct, and expressive, in an attempt to grapple with the unimaginable ferocity and loss of the attacks.
